Ennigerloh, June 2012 – Expansion in Sassenberg and Ennigerloh, new development team members and an entirely new product group: As part of the 2016 strategy, L.B. Bohle Maschinen + Verfahren GmbH has set important milestones. “With new products and additional capacities we are expediting expansion”, explained Lorenz Bohle at the ACHEMA in Frankfurt. At the same time, the 72-year old owner and CEO is preparing the transition to the next management generation.
CEO Lorenz Bohle turned the first sod for the Sassenberg extension in April 2011. Only six months later, the first engineers and technicians relocated, and already in spring 2012 added the final touch to the latest development – the BRC 100– in the new production hall. Entrepreneur Lorenz Bohle and his team took advantage of the upswing in 2011 in order to strengthen and expand the company’s leading role as a top expert for special machines in the pharmaceutical industry.
Sales rose to € 36 million. At the same time, the number of employees increased to 230. Dr. Dejan Djuric joined the company as Head of Research and Development, giving fresh impetus to the department. “He was actively involved in the rapid development of the Bohle BRC 100 through to readiness for the market”, said Lorenz Bohle in praise of his new head of development.
Production and development close to the limit
The demand of Bohle know-how continues unrelentingly. The current order backlog is more than ten months. Standard is six months. Lorenz Bohle explained: “Since early 2011, we are working close to capacity limit.”Therefore, investments are absolutely vital. The aim is to set production capacities for a sales volume of € 44 million until end of 2012. As a result of the expansion, the number of employees is also increasing. To this end, Bohle has been focusing on in-house training for many years, as well as on its cooperation with the Düsseldorf and Bonn Universities. “For SMEs, the search and close relationship of young engineers tops the priority list”, the entrepreneur explained. 72-year-old Lorenz Bohle is preparing his gradual retirement from the operative business. For the owner family, the future existence of L. B. Bohle Maschinen + Verfahren GmbH takes precedence – as one of the few independent experts for special machines for the pharmaceutical industry.
Already in spring 2011, a supervisory board was constituted. In addition to Lorenz Bohle, further members of the board are Dr. Gerd Birrenbach, pharmacist and former entrepreneur, and the lawyer Hans Dieter Oesterwinter from Warendorf.
Members of the management team include Jörg Mühlenbein (Commercial Manager), Tim Remmert (Sales Manager), Armin Bohle (Head of Technical Operation) und Dr. Dejan Duric (Head of Scientific Operation), in addition to external executives and family members. The founder, Lorenz Bohle, however, will continue to be involved in the development of innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical industry; he will also be happy to provide advice whenever his experience and competence are needed. A change in owner structure is not foreseen.
Equity ratio is over 50 percent.
The financial situation of L. B. Bohle Maschinen + Verfahren GmbH is very sound. Investments are financed from ongoing businesses. Lorenz Bohle: “Our equity ratio is over 50 percent.” With around 35 patents and further innovations, the entrepreneur sees the future as assured far beyond the 30-years of existence in 2011.
