Using a tangential fluid bed system represents state of the art technology in pharmaceutical manufacturing for particle coating, granulation and drying.

With the innovative and patented Bohle Uni Cone BUC® process a complete fluidization is assured which leads to a high coating uniformities and high yields in the final product due to the absence if particle twinning. Bohle Uni Cone BUC ® is the productive, practical and precise alternative to conventional Wurster processing.

The BFS features a broad range of extension options for Bottom Tangential Spray Granulation as well as Bottom Tangential Spray Coating. All production systems are 12 bar shock pressure resistant.

Continuous processes are strongly increasing in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2011, L.B. Bohle introduced the first Bohle Conit Granulator BCG® - a twin-screw granulator with a downstream dryer.

The Granumator ® GMA is a granultion system specifically optimized for pharmaceutical applications. The impeller is designed for high shear and compression, ensuring effective granulation. The chopper prevents excessive granule growth and distributes the granulating liquid within the product.

The High Shear Granulator GMA is designed for through-the-wall installation. The container is connected to the system head via electrically driven lifting cylinders and can be lowered for inspection, for example. The granulation system GMA is 12 bar shock pressure resistant.

The VMA single pot granulator is a granulating and drying system specifically optimized for pharmaceutical applications. The Vagumator® single pot systmes are designed for closed, dust-free processing of pharmaceutical granules from charging through dicharge including in-line milling.

Mixing, granulation and drying cycles are completed in a single machine under contained conditions.

The impeller, with its high shear and compression, ensures effective granulation. The chopper prevents excessive granule growth and distributes the granulating liquid within the product.

The individual components of the High Shear Granulator GMA, wet sieve BTS, Fluid Bed System BFS and Bohle Uni Cone BUC®, cyclone separator and dry sieve BTS are optimally integrated into the Compact Unit. This integration covers process, cleaning, control and explosion protection as well as qualification.

The Compact Unit is a compelling solution when traditional wet granulation must be realized economically and ergonomically. Featuring many technological advances and inherent safety considerations, the Compact Unit creates an industry benchmark.

Small footprint, flexible application and smooth production processes are decisive criteria for investment in the pharmaceutical granulation system. In this respect, L.B. Bohle sets standards with the Compact Unit.

Thanks to the fast rotor and patented impeller, the Bohle Turbo Sieve ensures efficient operation. Significant features include vertical arrangement with conical hole or friction sieve, angled drive in the rotor for direct power transmission and high throughputs.

Even for most complicated products, the user-friendly, modular and compact cGMP design of the Turbo Mill BTM ensures excellent throughput capacities. Important features: easy transport on a mobile undercarriage as well as height adjustability.

Film coating is an important and sophisticated process step in the pharmaceutical industry. L.B. Bohle is the technological leader for all pharmaceutical film coating applications.

Film coating processes can be divided in the spraying, drying and mixing basic operations. Every individual step must be carefully optimized and in coordination with others.

Bohle coaters guarantee excellent product processing with exceptionally high profitability. The flat tablet bed in a long drum geometry, as well as continuous adjustment of the inclination angle ensure optimal movement of the cores. The integrated mixing spirals in the drum enable continuous product movement. There is no tablet twinning, therefore minor losses in solids and coatings.

Innovative concepts for processes as well as for cleaning improve the coater functionality and deliver outstanding results.

The type of air system reveals significant process-related advantages. Danger of spray drying of suspension no longer exists. This reduces spray losses and improves the structure of the coating. Tablets are handled more carefully thanks to the pan geometry and the mixing and conveyor elements. Through change of direction of pan rotation, tablets can be discharged completely and without containments.
