The company founder Lorenz Bohle laid the company’s sound foundations right from the start.

By so doing, the L.B. Bohle Maschinen + Verfahren GmbH became the leading supplier of special machines for the pharmaceutical industry and is an SME up to the present day. How it all began:

    Great success at Interpack

    TNumerous customers informed themselves about current machines and trends for batch and continuous processing at the common booth with the KORSCH AG. Furthermore the new twin-screw granulator BCG 25 was unveiled at the fair.

    Lorenz Bohle is now chairman of the advisory board

    The longtime executives Tim Remmert, Dierctor Sales, and Thorsten Wesselmann, Head of Engineering, take over the management in January 2017.

    PMEC India: New generation of the tablet checker KA

    KA 280 - the next generation of the tablet checker series was presented at the PMEC in Mumbai. Up to 1.000.000 tablets can be checked in one hour.

    Inauguration of the Technology Center

    Continuous processing in Ennigerloh: L.B. Bohle opens the Technology Center at the headquarters. The Technoloy Center was inaugrated with many international guests with a symposium on "continuous processing". Customers can now test and develop their products on the new continuous production unit.

    Interpack: Fluid Bed Systems Innovations

    L.B. Bohle presents two innovations at Interpack. With the Bohle Uni Cone BUC®, which coats smallest particles more precisely and evenly than the conventional Wurster process, Bohle optimizes the fluid bed technology. The second innovation, the BRC 25 dry granulator, extends the program of granulations solutions.

    Technology Center

    First groundbreaking ceremony of the new Technology Center at the headquarter in Ennigerloh. L.B. Bohle invests 6 to 8 Millionen € in the new test-, development- and presentation center. Bohle plans to display a complete production line in the Technology Center.

    Inauguration of Plant 3

    Inauguration of plant 3. From now on all process machines, e.g. Coater, Fluid Bed Systems and Compact Units, will be produced at plant 3.

    Fluid Bed System: Bohle Uni Cone BUC®

    The Bohle Uni Cone BUC® is now protected as brand and utility models. Bohle Uni Cone BUC® coats even small particels more precisely and evenly. With this process LBB optimizes the Fluid Bed Technology.

    Plant 3 - Lean Procuction in Ennigerloh

    L.B. Bohle receives the official building license for plant 3 by the district administrator Dr. Gericke. On the 20.000 m² industrial space a production facility with 3.700 m² will be accrued. The capital expenditure attends 5 Mio. €. L.B. Bohle will produce Coater at plant 3.

    ACHEMA: Dry Granulator Extends Granulation Portfolio

    L.B. Bohle presented the new dry granulator BRC 100 at the ACHEMA in Frankfurt am Main. With this dry granulator Bohle enlarges its product portfolio in the segment of granulation processes. The BRC 100 dry granulator was designed and developed to the marketability during only one year.

    Expansion in Sassenberg

    Lorenz Bohle acquires a 20.000m² plot of land in the industry park Haltenberg-Ost. With this investment the capacity of L.B. Bohle will be more than doubled.

    Interpack: Focus on Continuous Processing and Granulation

    L. B. Bohle presented the new Coater Generation KOCO®, a semi-continuous Coater, at the Interpack: the Bohle Conti Granulator BCG® (a concurrent twin-screw extruder with a downstream dryer) and a new Compact Unit (a combination of quick-granulator and the fluid bed system, completed with a sieving step in between).

    Extension of the Sassenberg Location

    Start of construction work for the extension of the Sassenberg location; investment in the amount of EUR 2.5 million.

    Continuous Processing: KOCO® - Semi-continuous Coating

    Development of the semi-continuous KOCO® coater.

    Continuous Processing: Bohle Conti Granulator BCG®

    Bohle presented the Conti Granulator BCG® at the Achema in Frankfurt.

  • 2007

    Coating Technology: Bohle Tablet Coater BTC

    The company launched the Bohle tablet coater BTC that provides unparalleled tablet consistency and efficiencies resulting in high speed, problem-free coating. Bohle’s patented air flow design within the coating pan reduces the likelihood of spray drying.

  • 2005

    Service-Center Ennigerloh

    The Service-Center was finished and dedicated in 2005. From this date on it is possible to test and develop machines and methods in a complete pharmaceutical production line.

  • 2003

    Granulation Technology: Tangential fluid bed process

    With the tangential fluid bed process, Bohle laid the foundation for more compact systems.

  • 2000

    New Plant in Sassenberg

    Construction of the Sassenberg location.

  • 2000

    Pharma Coating Technology: First 200kg Coater

    Bohle launched the first 200kg coater with CIP equipment and a long cylindrical drum.

  • 1998

    Pharma Coating Technology: First 70kg

    With the first 70kg coater L.B. Bohle extended its product range with the coating technology. The first coaters were still equipped with a drum replacement.

  • 1991

    Granulation Technology: First Single Pot Granulator

    L.B. Bohle laid the foundation for entry into process technology with the first single pot granulator (VMA). Even the first VMA features microwave drying.

    Blending Technology: First Container Blender

    First container blender sold, paving the way for the company’s continued growth. Since then, more than 3,500 PM container blenders ranging in sizes between 1 and 12,000 liters have been built and supplied to clients.

    Relocation

    Relocation of the company to Ennigerloh, the present headquarters. Decisive for company’s growth was the system for dust-free penicillin production.

  • 1983

    Start of own production

    Start of own production of L.B. Bohle Maschinen + Verfahren GmbH. Lifting columns and container supplemented the supply range.

  • 1981

    Foundation

    After many years as head of engineering for special machines for a pharmaceutical company, Lorenz Bohle found his own company in Ennigerloh/Westkirchen with the tablet checker KA. Today, Robert Stauvermann is the COO, who has been with the company from the onset.
